My word coach
Nintendo now focuses not only on the Super Mario fans. With the little Nintendo DS game, the manufacturer also stimulate your brains them in optimal condition. One of the games that everyone can note, is My Word Coach.
The game
My Word Coach is designed in collaboration with Van Dale. Nintendo ‘to improve your game in a fun and exciting way you and test your vocabulary while using the Dutch language. “With a daily workout of 20 minutes practice you 150 words each day and learn new words at 5. “At 95% to the vocabulary which has a literary writer or poet!”
How does it work?
Depending on your level test the game several words with the player. This is done by means of six different mini games to play. In 3, 2, 1 .. now! choose the correct definition of the word that comes into the picture. In Letter soup you make words with the letters together in the soup and Letter Blocks are a type of play tetris with the required letters to form words. The program provides feedback on mistakes and “bad words will repeat more often for optimal learning effect ‘. In between you do not have an own profile and choose one of the four coaches learn to use the complete game to assist and provide feedback.
Less fun, because:
* The levels move very slowly. You must often play the same game, at first to boost your level of secondary school student to student. And then you still go.
* You must master first two games, before gradually access the other four mini games. This can be very boring because you always play the same level of your need to boost you can do something different.
* The Nintendo has two small screens, which are used separately in a game. Sometimes it is difficult to switch between the two and difficult to read descriptions properly.
* The personal coaches (an old professor, a truttige Miss, a young girl and a black man with huge sideburns) are a bit annoying. They take every time you need to read whole stories about your performance and progress. It speaks not of the real figures to me personally.
* It can be frustrating every time you level and pointed to mistakes and not just a nice relaxing game to play. Because, we finally indeed the level of a literary writer and poet have?
Fun because:
* It is no ordinary game. You are no people to shoot or jump to the strange creatures, but working with language and vocabulary. You train your brains and your actually expands your vocabulary.
* The format of the Nintendo is valuable, so you wherever you want to play and you can boost your brains.
* Your daily but with 20 minutes to play on can boost your vocabulary.
* You see results quickly. You notice immediately that your vocabulary is better, because then your mistakes come back. The second time you know the course and it feels like to win yourself.
* There is a competitive element. You play against yourself and the clock, so every time you want to do more to improve your knowledge.
