Already have a 3g modem, you have found it handy to always have internet with them. Sony Ericsson takes 3G modem one step further. Their new modem, MD400g, nämlingen contains a small GPS chip that allows it knows exactly where it (and you) are.

You can thus open up Google maps and directly get to know where you are - and can therefore see where the nearest such station or hotel there.

Sony Ericsson hopes to secure more third party companies to develop software for the GPS part of the modem so that more fun and useful services can be offered later.

In addition to GPS functionality, the modem is also room for memory cards as Memory Stick Micro and Micro SD. Thus, it works also as a portable memory.

As usual, use one of USB ports for plugging in the modem / card reader.
